It’s not just ABC News that got the facts wrong when it comes to the sale of high-capacity magazines.* Last night Keith Olbermann just couldn’t resist the opportunity to try to pin some part of the tragedy on President Bush:
Olbermann declares that “[High-capacity magazines] were banned under the assault-weapons law of 1994. Congress and President Bush allowed that law to expire more than two years ago.” Actually, that law only banned the manufacture, not the sale or possession, of high-capacity magazines.
* CORRECTION: Thanks to several readers for pointing out the proper terminology. It’s “magazines,” not “clips.”
