Oprah’s Looking for Pregnant Teens 16 and Older

Can anyone think of a mother in the news this week who might be the perfect guest for Oprah’s upcoming episode on teen pregnancy?

Are you a pregnant teen, 16 years or older? If you are pregnant now, did you get pregnant on purpose – or was it unplanned? Do you wonder how your life will change? If you are not yet pregnant, have you and your boyfriend ever considered having a child? Are you frightened about the future or do you feel having a baby will make your life more complete? Do you feel that getting pregnant will help your boyfriend stay in the picture? Or do you believe that having a baby will help you create the loving family you’ve always wanted? If you are pregnant, are you happy about it or do you wish you had been more careful? Have you sought advice from a parent or counselor? Do your parents know about your pregnancy? The Oprah Winfrey Show is looking for teenagers age 16 or older who either are pregnant or are considering getting pregnant. Please email us your story. Please be sure and ask for your parents’ permission before you write to us. If selected, we’ll need their permission before we can talk to you about your story. We look forward to hearing from you!

Or for this episode. . .

Are You a Mother Who Feels Judged?Do you feel that you are not measuring up to society’s expectations of what a “good” mother is? What are your biggest parenting challenges? Are there questions you wish you could ask other moms, but are afraid to ask out of fear of judgement? Have you been in a situation where you felt other mothers were looking down at you for a choice you made with your own children? Have you ever judged another mother and felt bad about it afterwards? The Oprah Winfrey Show wants to hear about your experience. Please share your story with us.

Or this one. . .

Attn Moms: Worried your teen will get pregnant? Are you scared that your teen is going to get pregnant? Does she ignore you when you try to talk to her about your concerns? Are you worried that Hollywood is glamorizing teen pregnancy and see it is even affecting your own daughter? Does she admire a celebrity or friend who had a baby while in high school? Maybe you are even suspicious she might be trying to get pregnant on purpose? Does she think being pregnant and having a baby is cool?
If you are concerned that your teenaged daughter is going to get pregnant, then we want to hear from you. Send us a photo and tell us your concerns. Please only respond if you are willing to appear on television.

Oprah’s free to do whatever she wants — it’s her show and thankfully we have no Fairness Doctrine telling her what to do — but, it’s hypocritical of her to deny her audience Sarah Palin, especially since Oprah has decided that the issues the Palin family are going through are a focus for the season.
