Praise for the NY Sun

Today’s WSJ:

As journalism, however, the paper was a runaway success. While it shared our editorial principles, the Sun made us work harder to avoid getting scooped, with especially distinguished coverage of the U.N. and its endless shenanigans. For sheer liveliness it was hard to beat. Many New Yorkers told us they found its arts coverage a refuge of clarity and intellectual depth. The Sun won a devoted following even among those who disagreed with its politics.
The New York Sun has been what a quality newspaper ought to be: serious about its principles, passionate about its city and nation, intelligently edited and, not least, fun. Its motto was “It Shines For All,” and it has been a model for all who make journalism their work.
