To follow up on the “Tabloid Trash” debate over in the Corner, let me add that the only difference between the National Enquirer and the rest of the MSM is that the Enquirer doesn’t lie about what it’s doing. Every main story that doesn’t have a well-coiffed Democrat as its focus that’s on NationalEnquirer.com right now is also available in the MSM.
The Edwards story qualifies for what it is: gossip. The LA Times, MSNBC, The Washington Post, CBS, Time, Huffington Post, etc. all make money from their gossip properties without any hesitation or concern for the people they are covering.
John Edwards, however, is different. His private life shall remain private while it’s business as usual for everyone else.
