Reuters Journalist Killed In Bangkok Protests

Foreign news coverage in recent days has been dominated by the tumultuous events in Kyrgyzstan, Poland, and Greece, so the bloody scenes on streets of the Thai capital of Bangkok — where at least 20 anti-government protesters were killed and dozens injured this weekend — have not received the kind of prominent coverage they deserve.
One journalist who was trying to bring pictures to the world, Reuters television cameraman Hiro Muramoto, was shot dead on Saturday during a violent clash between demonstrators and Thai troops.
Muramoto, a 43-year-old Japanese national who had worked for Reuters in Tokyo for more than 15 years, was married with two children. He was shot in the chest and died a short while later.
