Shall we just give Rudy the keys to the governor’s mansion now? Our soon to be new governor is not quite as tough on crime as some in NY State might demand:
“His past as a state senator from Manhattan is not one that has many areas of interest for upstaters,” Winner said. “It will be difficult for him to bring all sides together. If he’s the governor, we’ve got to get the work done.”
Winner said Paterson caused a firestorm when he proposed legislation to require police officers to “shoot to wound” after being fired on.
“He had to withdraw that bill,” Winner said. “His ranking with the National Rifle Association and sportsmen’s groups is an F. His ranking with regard to the Business Council is in the lowest category.”
