Dan Riehl makes a great point on what Sarah Palin’s jump into the media really means:
I’m not even going to bother linking him this go round. Sullivan pulls out some old video of Palin doing sports as a young girl, evidently to suggest something negative about her. Of course the video was annotated by a Palin pregnancy lunatic. Whatever.
It takes Andy a while to figure things out completely when he even does, anymore. So, he may not have realized this, yet. But by shifting from electoral politics to media, Sarah Palin is now in Andy’s broader field. And she is starting out with far greater reach, more fans, anticipated audience, influence and income than to what Andy could ever aspire.
She has made him completely irrelevant to her, now.
You better start looking up when you take a shot at Palin in the future, Andy. If you’re lucky, she may look down sometime and toss some traffic toward your blog with a mention on Fox News.
But don’t hold your breath, we wouldn’t want you to kill any brains cells you may still have left these days.
Not just Sullivan, but MSDNC as well. Check out their ratings on Friday, for example: 59,000 viewers for Chris Matthews?
