Thursday’s Washington Post includes a story by arts reporter Jacqueline Trescott reporting on how local arts organizations are thrilled to receive $50,000 grants from the National Endowment for the Arts as part of the so-called “stimulus” package. In the story’s very last paragraph, Trescott revealed: “Nina Ozlu Tunceli, chief counsel of government and public affairs for the Americans for the Arts, said the $50,000 the organization received would support two positions.”
How convenient that is: the NEA is granting money to a group which strongly advocates higher funding for the NEA.
