Should NBC Suspend Donald Trump for his Presidential Talk?

Back in November last year, Rachel Maddow, speaking in defense of Keith Olbermann, who had just been suspended by MSDNC for making unauthorized political contributions, said this:

Presumptive 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is also a host at Fox News. He hosts a show there I think that is on the weekends. Making explicit political endorsements is essentially Mr. Huckabee’s full-time other job. Besides being on Fox, when he is not making explicit political endorsements, Mr. Huckabee, the Fox News host, is appearing at political fundraisers for Republican candidates. Fox News. Republican fundraiser. Fox News. Republican fundraiser. That’s what he does as a Fox News host.Same goes for Fox News host Sarah Palin… Fox News. Republican fundraiser. Fox News. Republican fundraiser. It’s what she does as a Fox News host.

Donald Trump, who makes a lot of money from NBC and for NBC, is thinking about a presidential run, just like Huckabee and Palin. Donald Trump appeared at CPAC, endorsing conservative political views. And not a day goes by where someone, on some network, isn’t talking about Trump as a president. Still on the fence about whether Trump’s the same as Huckabee and Palin? How about NBC’s paying to poll Trump as president:

Donald Trump has an approval rating higher than better-known political quantities Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty, the latest WSJ/NBC poll found.

The poll tested the three potential 2012 hopefuls, along with House Speaker John Boehner, and found Trump leading the pack.

Trump’s numbers were 9 percent “very positive” and 17 percent “somewhat positive,” for a combined total of 26 percent.

The question is, when will Maddow, et al. call on their bosses to suspend their rainmaker?
