Skepticism and the Koran

E-mailer Russ McSwain wrote in to add something to the Franken discussion:

When Franken was embedded with lead cavalry units during the initial Iraq invasion he was American and pro-American in spite of himself. He described the firm resolve of the unit as it prepared to repel an Iraqi counter attack. Of course some of this could be Stockholm syndrome, [but] on balance Franken gave the appearance of being proud of the American Army.

This brings to mind something Franken said in our interview, discussing his embedding:

At one point, [commanding officer] John Mills looked at a group of reporters–we were all standing around–and he said,
