The Tabloidification of the Huffington Post

One little-talked-about aspect of the Huffington Post is the traffic the site gets from non-political articles. For example, I just saw a link on Huffie for “Butt cleavage fashion.” When clicking on this link, an ad for subscriptions to the NY Times comes up.

Anyway, as of this posting, the cleavage article has about 25,000 clicks. The same Times ad is served in another article on the site, “Vagina spa opens in New York,” with 68,000 readers having clicked on this one.
Another popular article over the weekend, with 147,000 clicks, shows the patriotic side of the HuffPo: Top 10 women in American flag bikinis. Brought to you, of course, by the Times..
