Truthers Heckle Kristol at UT

Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol gave a speech at the University of Texas in Austin yesterday, which was disrupted by a group of 9/11 Truthers:

A speech by William Kristol, former chief of staff for former vice president Dan Quayle and editor of The Weekly Standard magazine, turned hostile Tuesday when students began hurling insults at Kristol, alleging his and the U.S. government’s complicity in the Sept. 11 attacks.
“9/11 is your Pearl Harbor,” said one student protestor, referring to a pre-Sept. 11 statement released by the Project for a New American Century, a conservative think tank Kristol chairs.

A buddy of mine from UT’s LBJ School of Public Affairs – which co-sponsored the event — was there:

You missed an Animal House-like food fight last night over at the LBJ School as the intellectual left here at UT dished out invective against William Kristol. The local access TV wingnut also showed up with his camcorder. The best that they could manage were chants of ‘Murderer’ and ‘This is your Pearl Harbor.’ Not very skilled hecklers. Several were escorted out by the police. One spotted Phil Bobbitt in the crowd and yelled “How’s your shadow government going Mr. Bobbitt.” I was embarrassed for UT. Not so much because of the incivility of the audience, but instead for the poor quality and amateurish performance of our left wing. The poor quality of the education that they are getting here at UT was painfully obvious. I’ve known some lefties in the past that were actually clever and skilled hecklers. Not these people though.

Truthers at UT. I suppose it was only a matter of time.
