Tucker Carlson Gives David Brock a Beat Down

UPDATED AND BUMPED: SCHOLASTIC PULLS DISCUSSION GUIDE

Media Matters has been a key player in the campaign against ABC’s new docudrama, “The Path to 9/11.” Today the left-wing organization added a new component to that campaign by focusing on a discussion guide released by ABC and Scholastic. Questions about the docudrama aside, a review of the discussion guide reveals absolutely nothing objectionable, and certainly nothing false or inaccurate.
Today on Tucker, Tucker Carlson interviewed Media Matters President David Brock and shredded every one of his complaints:

Meanwhile, the LA Times reports that ABC has “toned down” a controversial scene, and according to the AP, ABC said that “the editing process is not yet complete.” That’s quite a change from last week, when an ABC spokesperson told me that the film was “locked and ready.” The Clinton gang might force more changes yet.

UPDATE: Media Blog reader John B. emails:

I went looking for the discussion guide, but it has disappeared.  Here is the Google cache of it, but it is no longer live.
Guess Scholastic performed a little Harry Potter magic and made it disappear…

Weak.
UPDATE II: A complete cave-in:

“After a thorough review of the original guide that we offered online to about 25,000 high school teachers, we determined that the materials did not meet our high standards for dealing with controversial issues,” said Dick Robinson, Chairman, President and CEO of Scholastic, in a press release.

The focus of the new materials will be on “the differences between factual reporting and a dramatization” and “the causes of unrest in the Middle East.” Like I said: Scholastic. Completely. Caved.
