This is the last one, but you get the point. Hillary’s blog team is a bunch of light-weights.
There’s Hillary’s Ben Smith (From Hillary’s blog):
Politico’s Ben Smith – ‘Clinton’s answer was a stronger performance.’ “Clinton’s answer was a stronger performance; Obama seems like he’s about ready to get out of here.” [Politico, Ben Smith, 2/21/08]
And then there’s the other Ben Smith (From The Politico):
The two candidates are asked to name a moment when they were tested, a question that has real bearing on the presidency, which is a constant series of agonizing decisions that all have to be made.
And both, basically, duck. Obama cites the “trajectory of my whole life” and then describes … his whole life. Clinton jokes that “everybody knows” about the political crises of the 1990s but says that she’s struck by how much harder others’ lives are.
Clinton’s answer was a stronger performance; Obama seems like he’s about ready to get out of here.
But on the substance, everyone can think of John McCain’s answer to the question of when he’s been tested. And it offers a hint of the vulnerability either could face in the general election.
And with that, what do you think? Obama/Webb ‘08?
