The USSS Prostitute Scandal vs. Trayvon Martin

Reader Joe D. sends this in, via Real Clear Politics. I don’t know about President Obama, but I hope my son grows up to look like a guy willing to take a bullet:

White House press secretary Jay Carney says “it would not be appropriate” for President Obama to comment on the Secret Service prostitution scandal that occurred just prior to his visit to Colombia.

“This is matter that is being looked in an appropriate manner by the Secret Service itself. It would not be appropriate for the president to characterize something being looking into the Secret Service at this time. All I can tell you is that it was — he was made aware of it, but beyond that i’m not going to characterize his reaction,” Carney said on Saturday afternoon.

Last month, Obama weighed in on the ongoing investigation of Trayvon Martin, saying if he had a son he would look like Trayvon.

I’m not sure why this has become such a giant issue. Al Gore gave prostitute-aficionado Eliot Spitzer his own show. Maybe that’s how the agents should be punished? Say, two weeks without pay interning for Al Gore? That will teach them a lesson.

Or maybe their punishment should be the same as Bill Clinton’s? Impeached, but acquitted by the Senate.
