Washington Post Corrects the Trivial, Does Not Address the Substantial

The Washington Post issued several corrections to this story that maligned Bill Roggio, a blogger who embedded with the U.S. military in Iraq last year. But the Post failed to address the question of whether the story attempted to unfairly and dishonestly portray Roggio as part of a U.S. military information operation — an emerging trend among news organizations that feel threatened by independent reporting. Post ombudsman Deborah Howell told a reader that “There will be an answer” in an e-mail exchange posted on michellemalkin.com, but wrote her column this week about religion reporting instead.
