Last night, Dan Rather got all emotional telling a crowd at Fordham Law School that editors used to stick up for reporters and the Bush administration is more repressive than the Nixon administration. HBO Documentary president Sheila Nevins also spoke:
Nevins took up the cause for Rather, who was emotional several times during the event.
“When a man is close to tears discussing his work and his lip quivers, he deserves bosses who punch back. I feel I would punch back for Dan,” Nevins said.
Really? Even if he used faked documents to undermine a president weeks before an election? Let’s hope Dan doesn’t get into the documentary business.
