What the MSM Is Missing About China

One of the things that bugs me is when the media, the president, or Mitt Romney talk about getting tough on China — whatever that means — without mentioning America’s addiction to Chinese-made products.

Take Foxconn, for example, the giant contract manufacturer in China that makes products for Apple, among others. The latest news is Nintendo is investigating Foxconn for using child labor in the manufacture of its products.

And late in September, workers at the Foxconn plant making the iPhone 5 rioted. Luckily China had 5,000 police officers on hand to get the workers under control.

To put that 5,000 number in perspective, the Metropolitan Police of the District of Columbia has 3,800 officers.

What’s happening in China looks more like a revolution than a riot, no?

Just something for the MSM to keep in mind as they comment on how the candidates will “get tough on China” while using their Chinese-made laptops, iPhones, iPads, Blackberries, etc.
