Tulsi Gabbard, the former representative from Hawaii and Democratic presidential candidate, took to Twitter Tuesday morning to announce she is leaving the party.

“I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stoke anti-white racism. Who actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms that are enshrined in our constitution,” Gabbard said in her video post.

During Gabbard’s failed 2019 Democratic presidential campaign she ran as a dark horse candidate leveraging her military experience as an Iraq War veteran. Since then, Gabbard has progressively fallen out of the liberal orbit.

Following Hilary Clinton’s accusation that she was a “Russian asset,” Gabbard sued the former Secretary of State and First Lady for defamation.

Earlier this year, she attended CPAC with a message of unity.

When the FBI raided Trump’s residence of Mar-a-Lago, Gabbard blasted the move on Fox’s Tucker Carlson saying it “changed the country that we grew up in.”Within hours, the recording had eclipsed a million views, 14,000 retweets, and 61,000 likes.
