Democratic presidential contender Kamala Harris told supporters Sunday that Attorney General William Barr “must” be made to testify to Congress about the conclusions in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report.
“Let’s speak truth on some of the current topics of the day,” the California senator said at a campaign rally at Atlanta, Ga.-based Morehouse College. “Let’s speak truth that the American public deserves transparency and accountability, and the Mueller report must be made public for a full accounting of what happened, and the attorney general of the United States must be required to come and testify before Congress instead of just submitting a four-page memo of what happened.”
Mueller on Friday submitted to the Justice Department a final report on the conclusions of his investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election, in which he said he had found no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, according to a short summary released Sunday by Barr.
Even before Harris’s call for Barr to testify, House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerry Nadler had signaled that the Committee plans to request testimony from Barr.
In light of the very concerning discrepancies and final decision making at the Justice Department following the Special Counsel report, where Mueller did not exonerate the President, we will be calling Attorney General Barr in to testify before @HouseJudiciary in the near future.

Several other 2020 Democratic presidential candidates have called for the full Mueller report to be released to the public, including Senators Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, Kirsten Gillibrand, Bernie Sanders, and Amy Klobuchar, former Texas representative Beto O’Rourke, and former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julian Castro.
