Roske advocated mass abortion as a means of population control, arguing that babies don’t give ‘consent’ to be born.
The man charged with attempting to assassinate Justice Brett Kavanaugh appears to have had a disturbing online presence, posting sexually explicit messages in which he identified as a transgender girl and advocated for mass abortion as a means of population control.
The FBI uncovered several Reddit accounts connected to 26-year-old Californian Nicholas John Roske, the suspect and defendant in the attempted murder of Kavanaugh. In June, Roske traveled to the justice’s home armed with a Glock handgun, intent on killing him over his expected rulings in ongoing cases related to abortion and the Second Amendment. Roe v. Wade was overturned later that month.
Mia Cathell, writing for Town Hall, compiled and reported a collection of screenshots showing Roske’s anonymous internet activity, much of which is psychologically perturbed.
Under username “AmericanNick7,” Roske expressed maniacal pro-abortion thoughts in the “r/ChangeMyView” subreddit.
“I am pro-abortion (in favor of aborting fetuses, not pro-choice,” he wrote.
“I think that something as significant as consciousness should not be imposed on matter (the person before they gain consciousness) without consent, and as a non-conscious person cannot give consent, being born is inherently done without consent…” Roske said.
He offered what he believed to be the moral case for killing babies in the womb: “If abortion were mandatory for pregnant women, no new people would be born, and thus no new people would experience suffering. If no new people are born, humanity will end and thus human suffering will end. This would require no deaths of people already in existence, it would simply prevent new people from coming into existence. Over time, resources would become more plentiful, another benefit of this method.”
He acknowledged how “radical” this view is but said “I do hold it sincerely.”
Claiming to be a “negative utilitarian,” who studied philosophy at California State University-Northridge, Cathell noted, Roske suggested that exterminating future populations would be the solution to human suffering.
“The suffering caused by the continued existence of humanity is of an incomprehensible magnitude…” Roske wrote. “In order to end suffering on Earth we would have to destroy the possibility of all life on earth.”
Under Reddit username “AmericanNick,” Roske spoke through his alter ego, a transsexual “femme” and “sissy slave” named Sophie, according to an archived screenshot of the forum. On the “r/GamerPals” subreddit, titled “Trans Gamer Girl Seeking Friend,” Roske put out an advertisement for a female to play video games with him.
On a page called “Redditors searching for other Redditors in the Seattle area,” Roske called himself a “male to female” transgender person “looking for a woman to cuddle and watch movies with.” He added: “If this turns into making out, etc that’s cool, if not that’s cool too.”
In the same Seattle Reddit community, “Trans Girl” Roske, then 25 years old, detailed his sexual preferences in a search ad targeting a “recurring” female partner.
“I have done a lot of research and have some experience being both a sub and a domme. I enjoy both and would enjoy being either or switching. I have many kinks and only a few limits, so for the most part, if you are into it, I will enjoy it as well,” he wrote.
Roske affirms his BDSM proclivities in another post, where he says, “Pretty kinky, have a fet account and everything. I have some experience but I am looking for more. I have an ever expanding collection of toys and tools.”
He spent time in the fetish subreddit “r/SissyPersonals,” where he voiced his desire for “Daddy to Have Complete Sexual Control Over Me.”
In one especially depraved post, presumably seeking a male partner, Roske declared: “I am looking for a Daddy to control my sexual life. Tell how long I have to be in chastity for and what I am allowed to do when you let me out. Give me specifics tasks to do while in locked up and/or daily tasks. Whether this be number of times I have to edge myself, time riding a dildo, watching porn, all three or more! Message me if you want me as your sexual toy to frustrate, humiliate, and control.”
Roske apparently struggled with mental-health issues before he plotted to kill Kavanaugh, detailed in a number of other Reddit posts from recent years.
On the “r/Forensics” subreddit, Cathell found, Roske asked users how a theoretical fictional character could commit a crime without leaving evidence behind.
“I was curious what lengths someone like that would go to in order to avoid leaving evidence. I know of the obvious things like gloves, masks, shaving hair/hairnet, and duct-taping shoes. Are there other forms of evidence to consider? Are there more efficient ways of addressing the problems these methods attempt to solve?” Roske wondered.
When law enforcement apprehended Roske after the thwarted attack on Kavanaugh, they found in his possession a tactical chest rig equipped with pepper spray and a knife, hard-knuckled tactical gloves, lock-picking devices, a black face mask, a thermal-imaging monocular, a Glock pistol and ammunition plus a speed loader, and duck tape, according to a Maryland grand jury’s indictment.
