RuPaul’s 2023 DragCon, an annual convention featuring former contestants on the television show RuPaul’s Drag Race, will host meet-and-greets with the four Teletubbies characters in its “Kid Zone.”

DragCon first introduced the Kid Zone, where adult attendees can leave their kids to play, at the third-annual convention in 2017. This year, the convention is granting free admission for children under eight with each paid adult ticket, although children under 16 are prevented from the separately ticketed “After Hours” events.

Last year, an estimated 50,000 people attended DragCon in Los Angeles. This year, RuPaul’s DragCon in Los Angeles will be hosted on May 11-12.

The upcoming convention in Los Angeles will host meet-and-greets with the Teletubbies characters at the Kid Zone. The DragCon schedule shows that the Teletubbies will perform with drag queen “Priyanka,” who won the first season of the television show “Canada’s Drag Race” in 2020. The schedule had previously shown several drag queen story hour events in the Kid Zone, but at the time of publication, the story-hour events were no longer publicly listed.

The convention’s exhibitors include spiked-collar company “BitchFist NYC,” lubricant company “Boy Butter,” the flavored anal spray company “Holey Water,” the American Civil Liberties Union, and the non-denominational Christ Chapel of the Valley.

The United Kingdom DragCon in January featured drag queen “A’Whora” performing onstage with the Teletubbies. Footage from the U.K. DragCon shows the Teletubbies twerking onstage.

RuPaul has won twelve Emmy awards for his work in television, rendering him the most-decorated black artist in Emmy history. Build-A-Bear Workshop released a plush bear inspired by RuPaul as a “tribute to the world’s most famous drag queen.” The plush bear was sold on Bear Cave, a website with an age-warning stating the products are “intended for shoppers 18 and older.” (The gold heels were sold separately.)
