Golf star Tiger Woods was injured Tuesday in a single-car rollover crash near Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Emergency personnel used the “jaws of life” to extricate Woods from his vehicle. He was taken to a local hospital for his injuries.
Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, reportedly told Golf Digest that the golfer had “suffered multiple leg injuries.”
“He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support,” Steinberg said.

Police responded to a “roll-over traffic collision” at approximately 7:12 a.m., the LA County Sheriffs said in a statement.
“The driver and sole occupant was identified as PGA golfer, Eldrick ‘Tiger’ Woods. Mr. Woods was extricated from the wreck with the ‘jaws of life’ by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries.”
The 45-year-old golf icon was in California for a two-day content shoot with Golf Digest and GOLFTV after having hosted the PGA Tour’s Genesis Invitational over the weekend, according to the magazine.
Woods has not competed since late December, when he participated in the PNC Championship. He later underwent his fifth back surgery, a microdiscectomy procedure to remove a pressurized disc fragment that was pinching a nerve, according to Golf Digest.
He told CBS’s Jim Nantz on Sunday that he was waiting on the results of an upcoming MRI before he would begin training to return to competition.
Former President Donald Trump sent his best wishes to Woods on Tuesday after the accident, in a statement shared by spokesman Jason Miller.
“Get well soon, Tiger. You are a true champion!” Trump said.
