Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign has hired Corey Lewandowski, the presumptive GOP nominee’s 2016 campaign manager, to advise the national party’s 2024 delegate and convention process, National Review has exclusively learned — adding another loyal Trump ally to the mix ahead of the GOP’s convention this summer in Milwaukee.

“He’s very helpful to me, and he’s helpful to the RNC, and he’s helpful to the president,” Trump’s 2024 campaign adviser Chris LaCivita told NR.

Lewandowski is a longtime ally of Trump. His 2024 role in the convention marks his return to Trump’s orbit after he was pushed out of his role advising a pro-Trump super PAC, Make America Great Again Action, in 2021 over negative headlines surrounding accusations from a donor’s wife. Before that, he was fired in June 2016 as the former president’s first ever campaign manager over strategy disagreements as Trump was transitioning to his general-election campaign against then–Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

The Trump campaign has spent recent months working behind the scenes to stack the convention and Republican National Committee payroll with Republican loyalists who are closely aligned with the presumptive nominee’s vision. Lewandowski certainly fits that mold, having a close working relationship with the president that stretches back roughly a decade.
