Former President Trump endorsed Arizona Senate candidate and Peter Thiel associate Blake Masters on Thursday.

“Blake Masters is one of the most successful businessmen and investors in the Country,” Trump said in a statement, calling Masters a “great modern-day thinker.”

“Blake is Strong on Border Security, in particular, the disastrous Southern Border where people are pouring into the U.S. by the millions, and destroying our Country,” Trump said, adding “he will Cut Taxes and Regulations, be Tough on Crime, and Support our Military and our Vets. Blake will fight for our totally under-siege Second Amendment, and WIN!”

Masters subsequently thanked Trump for the endorsement.

“President Trump is a great man and a visionary. He saved this country from a Hillary Clinton regime and forever transformed American politics…and he’s not done yet,” Masters said in a statement. “It’s incredible to have his endorsement — I wish everyone could know how this feels.”

Masters, the former chief operating officer at Thiel Capital and president of the Thiel Foundation, is currently running in the Arizona Republican Senate primary against four other candidates including current Arizona attorney general Mark Brnovich. The primary is scheduled for August 2, with the winning candidate to face off against current Democratic senator Mark Kelly.

Masters released an add in November 2021 in which he stated “I think Trump won in 2020,” while Trump, in his endorsement, claimed Brnovich ignored evidence of “fraud” in the 2020 election.

“Arizona is a State where the 2020 Election was Rigged and Stolen, and a very thorough audit proved it,” Trump said. “Blake knows that the “Crime of the Century” took place, he will expose it and also, never let it happen again.”

J.D. Vance, another Thiel associate and author of Hillbilly Elegy, won the Republican Senate primary in Ohio after receiving Trump’s endorsement.
