Tyler Robinson’s DNA Found at Kirk Assassination Site; Suspect Previously Vowed to ‘Take Out’ Kirk

Law enforcement has turned up striking new evidence in their investigation into Charlie Kirk’s assassination, including a confirmed DNA match linking the alleged assassin, Tyler Robinson, to the crime scene, FBI Director Kash Patel revealed Monday.

Robinson’s DNA was present on a screwdriver found on a rooftop at the Utah Valley University campus as well as on a towel that was wrapped around the rifle that investigators found in the woods near the assassination site, Patel said during an interview on Fox & Friends.

“I can report today that the DNA hits from the towel that was wrapped around the firearm and the DNA from the screwdriver are positively processed for the suspect in custody,” Patel said.

The bolt-action hunting rifle used in the attack is still in Maryland with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives being analyzed, Patel said.

Robinson also wrote a note before the assassination, saying if he was given the chance to “take out Charlie Kirk,” he was “going to take it,” Patel revealed.

The FBI confirmed over the weekend that Robinson was living with a transgender romantic partner, a man who identifies as a woman. While the FBI has not released the name of the roommate, public records indicate it is 22-year-old Lance Twiggs, an aspiring professional video game player. A family member of Twiggs confirmed with the New York Post that the two were living together.

“His [Robinson’s] family has collectively told investigators that he subscribed to left-wing ideology and even more so in these last couple of years,” Patel said.

Unspent rounds found inside the recovered rifle were engraved with antifascist writing.

“Hey fascist, catch,” read the engraving on one round. Another round was engraved with the message “Bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao,” a reference to a song favored by resistance movements and revolutionary anti-capitalist partisans.

The spent casing that killed Kirk was engraved with a bizarre phrase — “Notices bulge OwO what’s this?” — that can be traced back to an old “copypasta” meme, a block of text that is meant to be copied and pasted on online forums. The meme appears to be popular in online “furry” communities, comprised of users who have a sexual fetish related to furry animals.

Patel noted that Robinson is not currently cooperating with the FBI and and its investigation.

“We flexed all resources the FBI had and surged multiple air assets as soon as this shooting occurred,” Patel said. He explained that upon walking the scene, the FBI discovered there was possible DNA evidence to be collected.

“Having the support of President Trump and the full support of the White House was what we needed for the resources to happen,” Patel said.
