There is another of those cases where a prof wants to use his classroom for
discussion of his theory that the 9/11 terrorist attacks were actually the
work of the government. This one is in New Hampshire and Inside Higher Ed
has the story:
Granite-state politicians are very upset over this attack on the
sensibilities of Americans and naturally the academic Left is again making
this out to be an issue of academic freedom.
I think it’s a matter of contract. The prof has a contract to teach a
course, not a talk radio gig where he gets to spout off on whatever happens
to have his attention that day. If a prof wants to air his opinions about
the government and its policies, he should be perfectly free to do so — on
his own time.
