ASMEA vs. MESA

Congrats to the Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa, for its successful first conference. The group was formed by Bernard Lewis and Fouad Ajami to provide a balance to the left-wing nuttery of the Middle East Studies Association, which likes to pretend that there’s no such thing as Islamic radicalism, except perhaps for the variety that’s properly inspired by a wholly reasonable hatred of the United States.
