Bad Penny Churchill

Getting fired isn’t stopping Ward Churchill from propagandizing at the University of Colorado. He is back on campus at the invitation of students to offer an unsanctioned course, “ReVisioning American History: Colonization, Genocide and Formation of the U.S. Settler State.”
Churchill’s first session was open, however, only to a select group. As The Washington Times reports, a newspaper photographer and several students described as “agitators” were turned away by event organizers. Attendees also were instructed to leave recording devices, including cell phones, at home.
Jessica Peck Corry, who leads the Independence Institute’s Campus Accountability Project, called it “ironic” that the public would be barred from Churchill’s class, given his bombastic claims of free speech during the battle over his dismissal.
“It’s certainly offensive that someone who’s as much a free-speech activist as Ward Churchill is prohibiting people from hearing him speak,” Corry said.
