The Battle of Santa Cruz

Anti-war protestors identified the real threat to America: military recruiters.

Members of Students Against War chased Army and National Guard recruiters out of a career fair at the University of California at Santa Cruz. Public universities are required to allow military recruiters, but “angry” protestors prevented recruiters from remaining in the building. There are even reports of slashed tires and injuries during the protest. “In order to stop the war,” says Marla Zubel, a UC Santa Cruz senior and member of Students Against War, “You have to make it more difficult to wage war.” In other words, in defiance of a Supreme Court decision, cripple the ability of the US military to offer voluntary positions to willing college graduates in order to defend out country. Great strategy, although wouldn’t it just be easier to surrender to the terrorists?
