Bloomberg News Piles On

As Ira Stoll points out at the Future of Capitalism blog, Bloomberg News has joined the gang beating up on for-profit higher ed, but its own news article contains information that undercuts its misleading headline “For-Profit Colleges Charge More While Doing Less.”

“According to the article,” Stoll writes, “the for-profits offer students less crowded classes, with seats, courses that are easier to enroll in, and teachers who can be fired if they don’t do a good job.” I’ll add that while it’s true that for-profits charge more, that’s because they don’t receive direct government subsidies.
