A Chance for Bollinger to Redeem Himself

FIRE is calling on Teachers College—Columbia University’s graduate school of education—to abandon its ideological litmus tests for students. These policies are belie the program’s promises of free speech and academic freedom as well as University President Lee Bollinger’s recent statements, in the wake of the Minutemen affair, on the importance of free expression at Columbia University.
Bollinger must back up his highminded statements with action, and liberating Teachers College from stifling political correctness is a good place to start.
