From Charles Mitchell of ACTA:
Dartmouth alumni have decisively voted to defeat the proposed new constitution for alumni governance. A two-thirds “yes” vote was needed for ratification, but a whopping 51 percent of alumni voted “no.” Complete results can be found at http://www.voxthevote.org.
ACTA has long been standing up for concerned Dartmouth alumni. Of recent note:
- We applauded the election of petition trustee candidates Todd Zywicki and Peter Robinson (http://www.goacta.org/press/Press Releases/5-13-05PR.htm);
- We condemned the “postponement” of this year’s alumni association elections (http://www.goacta.org/press/Press Releases/6-5-06PR.htm and http://www.goacta.org/press/Press Releases/6-20-06PR.htm); and
- We called on the Dartmouth administration to halt its electioneering campaign and let its alumni make up their own minds about the proposed constitution (http://www.goacta.org/press/Press Releases/9-25-06PR.htm).
