The Diversity Agenda Makes Things Worse

In this weekend Wall Street Journal piece, two psychology professors affiliated with Heterodox Academy, Jonathan Haidt and Lee Jussim, argue that the obsession with diversity (training programs, classes, hiring and admissions, etc.) don’t work, unless the objective is to perpetuate the asserted problem that some students can’t get over their biases an stereotypes about minority students.

They are right. Our diversity obsession won’t solve any problems. In fact, I doubt that many American college students harbor the kinds of racial biases and stereotypes that the diversity agenda is supposed to eliminate. The real agenda here is to keep alive the idea that lots of Americans harbor those sorts of ideas, thus requiring a large bureaucracy devoted to “helping” them. All this does is to create make-work jobs for SJW types.
