CHE:
The University of Florida and Andrew W. Meyer, the student whom campus police officers shocked with a Taser last month, have resolved their differences with forgiveness and letters of apology.
William P. Cervone, a Florida state attorney, announced on Tuesday that Mr. Meyer would serve 18 months of probation rather than face prosecution.
After an outburst at a speech by Sen. John F. Kerry in September, Mr. Meyer was charged with two misdemeanors: resisting an officer without violence— a reduction of an original felony charge of resisting an arrest with violence— and interfering with an educational-institution function (The Chronicle, September 18).
It’s got a good beat and you can dance to it: “Don’t Tase Me, Bro” (the remix).
And don’t forget the M.C. Hammer version.
