Duke Ends Vendetta Against K. C. Johnson

Brooklyn College history professor K. C. Johnson writes about the end of Duke University’s vendetta against him in a Minding the Campus essay.

Just two comments. First, it’s too bad that Judge Hornby’s opinion (he’s the judge in Maine who heard the case) won’t be published now. It probably would have stung Duke badly.

Second, Duke squandered a lot of money in this harassing litigation against someone who had the nerve to write truthfully about the infamous lacrosse case. Duke students, alums, and trustees ought to demand to know why the administration approved a costly suit that would only have been an embarrassment if the university had “won.”
