Fred has spoken to Columbia U.’s effort to acquire land by playing the “blight chip,” i.e., by conducting what West Harlem resident Nick Sprayregan calls “a solid effort to create the appearance of blight.”
This apparent land grab also suggests the need, nationwide, to scrutinize the nature of the symbiotic relationship between politically powerful universities and more immensely powerful states.
