The Telegraph reports that in Britain, some top companies are now recruiting the best high-school (although that isn’t exactly the British terminology) students rather than looking exclusively at those who have completed university degrees. The motivation seems to be apprehension that the firms will lose out on good prospects because, between the recession and rising college costs, some good students are deciding not to continue with postsecondary education.
Apparently, it isn’t true that college studies are essential for bright young people to learn most jobs.
