Moynihan draws parallels between Churchill and the case of historian Michael Bellesiles, who continued ranting that the attack on his book Arming America was all just a political vendetta long after a large number of impartial historians examined his scholarship and concluded that, like Churchill, he just made things up to support his opinions.
