“Fairness” in Faculty Hiring at Bucknell

Bucknell, according to article”>this student has taken “equal opportunity” to a new and absurd level, by passing over the clearly best-qualified candidate for a professorship because it would be unfair to compare him to the other two.
I think it’s a safe bet that the candidate passed over because he was too well qualified was a white man. Bucknell’s administration wanted more “diversity” and therefore came up with this laughable idea that it’s “fair” for less qualified people to be hired.
