Yesterday’s Clarion Call by Professor Blumenthal, advocating much greater
disclosure and transparency in college financial reporting, elicited a
comment from Gil Browne of George Mason University. He noted that when he
was at Oregon State, he helped to set up a financial reporting system that
does most if not all of what Blumenthal wants. Here is a link to a piece on the

Perhaps this is an idea whose time has come.
