Follow the Money

Writing at his CCAP blog, Rich Vedder notes that college presidents appear to be working on commission: The more research money they pull in, the higher their salaries. That formula leads to some very big bucks for presidents of major research universities, but a kind of “genteel poverity,” for presidents of colleges that just concentrate on teaching.
