In this SeeThru post, Mark Bauerlein makes a good argument that conservatives have made a mistake in their criticism of the politicized faculty. They have railed against Marxist professors when the real target should have been academic dilettantes who wrap their vague statist notions in Marxist language and insist that students accept what they say. They don’t really take Marx seriously (a point Thomas Sowell made years ago in his book on Marxism) and that’s too bad, for a real course examining Marxism could be an intellectual banquet.
