Grumps at BYU

…have taken aim at Disney’s dwarf Grumpy!

As well the Wicked Queen in “Snow White”!
Scholars at Brigham Young University, studying a slew of characters from Disney films going back more than half a century, conclude that these depictions encourage (to use The New York Sun’s term) “ageism.”
The kill-joys at BYU believe that portrayals of elderly people as “unintelligent, nasty, bad-tempered, useless,” as well as “toothless, hunched, and with cracking voices…and ‘saggy breasts,’” nurture negative images of older people.
Baa! Humbug!
