How Did Students Govern Themselves in the Past?

In this week’s installment of InsideAcademia.tv, host Andy Nash speaks with Ben Novak, former trustee at Penn State, on how students governed themselves in the past, and regulated the conduct of their peers, and engaged in student government — of a very different kind than the U.S. Congress-lite that taints the modern conception of “student government.”

This is a wide ranging and demanding interview. But it’s only a quarter hour, and worth your time if you, like me, are looking for clues about how students today might be able to recover the better angels of their nature on campus and beyond.
