How One State Confronted Islamist Education

Publishers and editors at some of America’s top publishing houses have been hoodwinked by the political advocacy group, The Council on Islamic Education, to the great detriment of America’s children.  Gil Sewall describes how the state of Massachusetts resisted this challenge.
During the process the Massachusetts world history curriculum came under attack from activists who protested the Islam-related draft content, calling it racist and biased. Remarkably, the pro-Islamists were not Muslims but were led by Barbara Brown of the Boston University African Studies Center and Barbara Petzen of the Harvard University Center for Middle Eastern Studies.
Here, also from Sewall, are the questions that need to be asked about how Islam is taught in U.S. textbooks. (Family Security Matters)
