There’s a new paper out attacking the notion that “race is just a social construct” in no way tied to any genetic differences.
Already, genetic research shows that some genes are more common in some races than in others. This really ought to be obvious to anyone who thinks about it: Skin color is largely genetic, for example, as is malaria/sickle-cell anemia susceptibility, and these traits break down mostly along racial lines.
Academics like to say race is a social construct because they think this belief undermines racism. Their goal is noble, but I’m not sure lying is the best way to achieve it. As it becomes increasingly clear that they are lying, they’ll have to either stop lying or start fudging data.
