In her latest SeeThruEdu post, Lindsay Burke writes about recent moves by Congress meant to help students who unwisely borrowed too much for college degrees that haven’t led to jobs that pay well enough for them to handle their debt. The effect of this cushioning will be to preserve the status quo as long as possible — too many academically weak students going to colleges that spend lavishly but often do little to prepare students for life.
