More Hamilton

Inside Higher Ed also has a story on the Hamilton Center collapse, and the numerous comments are revealing. They range from alums who regret having recently contributed to others who think the school did the right thing by squelching a “right wing” project. Interesting that anything that isn’t resolutely hostile to capitalism is branded as “right wing” and therefore something to be avoided.
I think Robert Paquette, who would have been the Center’s director, is right in saying that the furor over the governance of the Center was just a red herring to disguise ideological opposition.

George Leef is the the director of editorial content at the James G. Martin Center for Academic Renewal. He is the author of The Awakening of Jennifer Van Arsdale: A Political Fable for Our Time.
