Inside Higher Ed has a story today on the new NAS project — Argus. It’s designed to keep an eye on what actually goes on inside college classrooms.
The comments are quite interesting. McCarthyism and all that. Now I would bet my last dollar (shrinking fast, but still worth something) that if some group proposed to monitor the police or the Pentagon, the complainers would be cheering. So would I. More information never hurts. But they go off the deep end when it’s proposed that there should be more information available on classroom activities.
